The UIF scheme allows you to contribute 1% of your salary monthly and your employer has to do the same as well. As an employer, you are the one in charge of registering your employees by using the reference number that is given to you by the UIF to register them on the scheme.

When it is time for salary payment, you are to deduct the 1% from their salary make payment online via the uFiling platform and upload the declarations which will be visible for everyone to see. As an employee, once you qualify for any of the benefits that are available on the UIF you can apply with the right documents and make sure you enjoy the claims that will be paid to you monthly. The money you will receive on the claims depends on the salary that you received while working and how long you have been contributing to the scheme.
