The UIF is a scheme that was established to help everyone in society. If you are a worker you must contribute to the UIF scheme as this will help you in times of need. The UIF has listed tiers that are available for benefits in their scheme which are as follows; unemployment, illness, maternity, adoption and death.
These five (5) ters are known to be what the UIF is giving out as benefits to those that are contributing to their schemes. As an employer, you are given the task of making sure that your employees register for the UIF scheme and make sure that they have all the supporting documents that are needed to register.
If you are a domestic employer or a commercial employer, you must register for the UIF scheme and make sure you pay the 1% contribution that is needed monthly. Long as you do work more than 24h a month you are entitled to register for the UIF scheme and you must know the rules that are binding the UIF scheme.
The UIF pays about 38-58% of your salary monthly and this is one of those schemes that benefit you in the long run. As you contribute the UIF is being notified as your employer will have to upload a declaration form stating that you have contributed to the UIF scheme. If you are faced with any challenges over the years like unemployment and others you can then apply for the UIF scheme and then try to get supporting documents that are needed for you to be able to get those claims.
If you have been contributing to the UIF for four years (4) or even six months you are entitled to receive benefits for some time till you can get a new job and the UIF will take it upon itself to get a new job for yourself as well.
